DES MOINES, Iowa—Business Record readers have selected the Board of Directors of Mercy Medical Center – Des Moines as the Most Influential Board in Des Moines.
The special online survey asked readers to select the board they felt had the greatest influence in Des Moines. More than 1,300 surveys were completed.
“We are honored and humbled to have the Mercy Des Moines Board recognized by its peers in the Des Moines business community,” said Mercy Medical Center – Des Moines CEO and Mercy Health Network President & CEO Dave Vellinga. “We are blessed to have two Sisters of Mercy serve as Board members. Together with our talented community Board members, they are helping to direct the progressive transformation of the delivery of care— which best meets the needs of our patients and the business challenges of an ever-changing health care environment.”
Mercy Board members are also directly invested in meeting the needs of the Des Moines metropolitan community.
“It is a privilege to serve with such a passionate and talented group of individuals,” said Mercy President Bob Ritz. “Each brings tremendous business strength to our governance process and they are dedicated to preserving Mercy’s heritage of providing care to everyone.”
The listing of Most Influential Boards appeared in the Business Record’s annual Book of Lists, which was unveiled on Jan. 9. This is the second year of the survey, which is designed to improve awareness of Des Moines business leaders and their organizations.
