Mercy Medical Center has trained financial counselors available to discuss your individual needs. If you do not have insurance or will have difficulty in paying your portion of the bill, the counselors can assist you with your needs in making payment arrangements, reviewing for Mercy's Financial Assistance program or, in case of hospital admission, referral for public assistance or referral to another facility. Regardless, patients will receive necessary medical care and the care will never be based on the patient's ability to pay.
For our hospital patients without insurance who meet income guidelines, Mercy offers a discount off our total billed charges. An application for the discount is required.
Discounted charges are not available for patients who have insurance coverage (such as Medicare, Medicaid, Health Savings Accounts, Health Reimbursement Accounts, Commercial or Private Insurance policies) or applicable to patients who qualify for Mercy's Financial Assistance. Discounts are not applicable to patients' co-payments or deductibles from their insurance policies.
This discount is offered for 120 days from the date of service (or discharge from the hospital if hospitalized more than one day). If either payment in full or acceptable payment terms are not made within the 120 days, full charges apply.
When health services are completed, you will receive a summary of charges. If you will have difficulty paying the amount in full, please contact us. We can be reached at the phone number shown on the summary you receive or check the phone numbers to the right.
