Mercy First Step Recovery Center
Mercy First Step Recovery Center is an outpatient chemical and addiction program that offers an array of treatment options for those suffering from alcohol and substance abuse. Services offered are the least restrictive and most appropriate care to individuals and families. Located at the Mercy Franklin Center, programs are private, quiet and offer a relaxed atmosphere where professional and caring staff is ready to help.
First Step treatment methods, intensity of treatment and goals will vary based on patient needs, abilities and readiness to change.
- Intensive Outpatient: This program includes a personalized treatment plan developed to address the needs of each client and family. Services generally include counseling, education, peer group, support and reading. Patients attend treatment activities approximately eight hours a day and stay in the program from a few days to a few weeks, depending on progress.
- Day Outpatient: Day and evening programming is offered for less intensive outpatient treatment. Programs are offered Monday through Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 5:45 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Family Support: The family program offers group counseling services and education to relatives and others involved with someone who has an alcohol or drug problem. These services are available whether or not your family member is in treatment.
- Continuing Recovery: Clients who have successfully completed treatment are invited to participate in our continuing recovery services. These may include a weekly peer-facilitated support group, individual counseling or group sessions led by our professional counselors.
- Youth Services: This program offers individualized services to assist teenagers and their families in coping more effectively with problems associated with substance abuse or dependence. The focus of this service is a respectful and caring approach based upon the teen’s state of “readiness to change.” The program provides a comprehensive assessment to evaluate substance use, physical and mental health, peer relations, social skills and relapse prevention. This program is offered as an outpatient service only. No higher levels of service are offered at this time.
- Coordinated Services: Some patients need more than one type of service. The First Step staff works closely with other social and psychological services at Mercy Franklin Center and the community for referrals and extended resources if needed.
- Financial Services: Mercy First Step provides negotiated rates to insurance companies and managed care firms. Most insurers cover costs wholly or in part. Staff can provide patients with charges and insurance coverage estimates. Payment plans can also be arranged.
