Mercy Cancer Center provides:
- The latest information about treatment choices, current literature on various cancers and computer access to the internet in our library.
- Counseling for you and your family to help you sort through emotional and psychological issues during the cancer experience at no cost to you.
- Educational programs - we have a variety of programs to fit your needs.
- Nutritional counseling by our full-time dietitian specialist at no cost to you.
- Family risk assessment by our trained staff that will help you seek appropriate prevention/screening for family members at high risk for certain cancers.
- Access to retail items such as Amoena and TruLife breast prosthetics and bras and have four trained fitters on staff to assist you in a warm and private environment.
- Wigs, scarves, hats and turbans at a reduced cost (some are at no cost).
- Exploration of the benefits of complementary therapies such as massage, art and music therapy, meditation, relaxation, yoga and more.
- Assurance that your care will be managed by a knowledgeable and compassionate nursing staff in our 32-bed oncology inpatient unit if hospitalization is required at some point during the cancer experience.
