Survivorship and Support
The term “cancer survivor” is now used to describe a person from the time of diagnosis through the remaining years of life. Survivors face many physical, psychological, social, spiritual and financial issues which must be addressed in order to assure a better quality of life.
More and more, physicians and cancer program staff members realize that the cancer experience doesn’t end once someone is “cured.” By dealing with the ongoing issues facing cancer patients and their families, the Mercy Cancer Center goes that step further to help patients not only survive, but also to thrive.
