Mercy’s Volunteers
A Special Group of People

Volunteer giving directionsPeople of all ages, faiths and backgrounds volunteer at Mercy Medical Center – Des Moines and its affiliates. Despite their diversity, these men and women have one thing in common – a selfless desire to give back to their community and help others.

Volunteers are valuable members of the Mercy Family – generously donating their time to assist our staff and patients so that we may provide the best possible health care available.

In fiscal year 2008 (July 1, 2007 – June 30, 2008), Mercy had more than 300 active volunteers who gave more than 32,000 hours to the patients, families and communities we serve. We deeply appreciate these individuals.
