House of Mercy accepts and encourages the involvement of volunteers to provide services and support to these women and their children. Volunteers mentor, provide child companionship, tutor, assist in childcare and provide service on various professional levels.
Volunteers are asked to sign a confidentiality agreement in accordance with state and federal guidelines. All those volunteering on a regular basis must also complete an annual tuberculin health screening. In accordance with state licensing requirements, volunteers are also asked to complete a Non-Law Enforcement Record Check and a Child Abuse Registry Check.
Volunteers performing professional services for which certification or licensing is required shall provide a copy of such certificate or license for the personnel file (for example, physician, RN or hygienist).
