Classes
The Wellness Center Gym and Pool offer a variety of classes, open times and pick up games to help its members stay fit.
Gym Classes & Activities
- Adult Open Time: The gym is open for our members 18 years and older.
- Amazing Abs: Quick 15-minute class that will sculpt your abs and strengthen your lower back.
- Cardio Express: A half-hour class including step, hi low and more. Enjoy exercise variety all in one class.
- Family Time: Immediate family members (spouse and children high school age and younger) can attend at no additional cost. Member must be with guests at all times.
- Fitness Mix: Instructors choose from a variety of activities including step, fit ball, strength, flexibility and more.
- Fitness Yoga: Fitness-based yoga to relax, tone and stretch muscles.
- Pick-Up Basketball or Drop-In Volleyball: Come in and join others to play basketball or volleyball.
- Pilates Yoga: Incorporates fitness yoga with “core” exercises from the Pilates method.
- Ready, Set, Go!: Twenty minutes of cardio and 10 minutes of strength training to get your day going!
- SilverSneakers I®: Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion and activity for daily living skills. Handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
- Shotokan Karate: Non-contact Shotokan Karate teaches and maintains emphasis on self-defense. In this martial art the individual strive for self-protection and perfection. For more information, contact Michael Macrides at 210-6296.
- Tai Chi (and Chi Gong): Develop strength, coordination and balance without exhausting your energy!
- Triple Play: Advanced cardio routine (step or low-impact), then fun strength routines to help you firm up. To finish your workout, you will cool down with flexibility and stretching, all in one class.

- Ultimate Sculpt: This total body-conditioning workout uses various forms of resistance such as hand weights, body bars and stability balls to boost your strength and challenge all major muscle groups.
Pool Exercise Programs
The Wellness Center pool is maintained to meet therapeutic needs. The water is non-chlorine treated and the temperature is held at 92 degrees to help ease medical problems such as arthritis and joint pain. Seven levels of water exercise are offered as well as other pool classes and activities.
Level 1
- Intro H2O: An introductory, skill development class. Recommended for members recovering from surgery, strokes, and various muscular diseases.
- Arthritis: A water exercise program designed specifically for people with arthritis. This water class will help to reduce joint pain and stiffness, while also increasing range of motion. This class follows Arthritis Foundation guidelines (see the Arthritis Water Exercise Guidelines).
Level 2
- Water Basics: Low impact water workout designed for active individuals of all ages. This class includes cardiovascular conditions, toning, and stretching.
Level 3
- SilverSneakers® SilverSplash: Activate your aqua exercise urge for variety! This class offers fun, shallow water moves improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required and a special SilverSneakers® kickboard is used to develop strength, balance and coordination.
Level 4
- Aqua Fitness: An intermediate water class emphasizing overall fitness and health. Also a great prenatal/postpartum workout.
Level 5
- Hydro-Fusion: Most advanced water workout offered. Combination of vigorous cardiovascular exercise along with muscle toning and stretching.
Other Pool Classes and Activities
- Scheduled Patient Time: Patient therapy; members are not allowed in the pool during these times.
- Adult Swim: Open pool time for members 18 years of age and older.
- Water Volleyball: A fun, yet challenging water game using beach balls and a net.
- Family Time: Saturdays only. Immediate family members (spouse and children high school age and younger) can attend at no additional cost. Member must be with guests at all times.
Two or more participants are needed to hold a gym or pool class. Equipment instruction is available as an alternative.
