About Mercy

Injury Prevention

Trauma is a preventable disease. Traumatic injures can be avoided by providing continuing education, encouragement and supporting change in behavior among all age groups. Mercy Trauma Services is dedicated to providing injury prevention education to health care professionals, patients and the community. Currently, Mercy Trauma Services collaborates with the Metro Trauma Committee to provide area high schools with a distracted driving prevention program, works with the Iowa Department of Public Health to provide an older adult fall prevention program, and assists our Children’s Emergency Center with pediatric prevention initiatives.

Please contact us to set up your desired injury prevention program, or use the sites below to assist you in creating your own injury prevention programs. Contact Beth Berg at bberg2@mercydesmoines.org or (515)643-2084.
