Kirsten Goble, D.O.

Dr. Goble graduated from Des Moines University in 2008. She completed her undergraduate training at Iowa State University

Farah Khan, M.D.

Dr. Khan graduated from Deccan College of Medical Sciences in India in 1995. Most recently, she completed externships at Mercy East Clinic and the VA Hospital.

Douglas Lanoue, M.D.

Dr. Lanoue graduated from University of Illinois in 2008. He completed his undergraduate studies at Monmouth College in Monmouth, IL.

Shumaila Masood, M.D.

Dr. Masood graduated from Dow Medical College in Pakistan in 1996. After doing residencies in obstetrics and gynecology and internal medicine in Pakistan, she completed an externship at Brookwood Medical Group in Birmingham, AL.

Neetha Molakala, M.D.

Dr. Molakala graduated from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences in India in 2000. She completed a residency in ophthalmology there and most recently, worked as an extern at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

Michael Mosley, M.D.

Dr. Mosley graduated from the University of Iowa in 2008. He completed his undergraduate studies at Marquette University.

Hersh Patel, M.D.

Dr. Patel graduated JMF’s ACPM Medical College in India in 2005. He did several observerships in California most recently.

Maureen Tacke, D.O.

Dr. Tacke graduated from Des Moines University in 2008. She completed her undergraduate studies at Creighton University in Omaha, NE.

Saeed Ahmad, M.D.

Dr. Ahmad graduated from the Rawalpindi Medical College in Pakistan in 1988.  He completed an OB residency in Pakistan in 1999.  Most recently, he worked at the Plastic Surgery Center in Champaign, Illinois.

Amanda Blea, D.O.

Dr. Blea graduated from Des Moines University this year.  She completed her undergraduate training at New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico. 

Christopher Matson, D.O.

Dr. Matson graduated from Des Moines University this year.  He completed his undergraduate studies at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia.  Dr. Matson is a familiar face at Mercy FMRP, completing two rotations here during medical school.

Joseph McGargill, M.D.

Dr. McGargill graduated from the University of Nebraska this year.  He completed his undergraduate training at Drake University.   Dr. McGargill completed a rotation earlier this year at Mercy FMRP.

Ian McQuistan, D.O.

Dr. McQuistan graduated from the Kirskville College of Osteopathic Medicine this year.  He completed undergraduate training at the University of Iowa. 

Shannon Remington, D.O.

Dr. Remington graduated from Des Moines University this year.  She received a nursing degree at Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa, and then completed training as a physician assistant at Des Moines University.  Dr. Remington worked as a PA at the Knoxville Hospital Clinic prior to medical school.

Salman Saad, M.D.

Dr. Saad graduated from Rawalpindi Medical College in Pakistan in 2003.  Most recently, he worked as an observer in the Primary Care Clinic at University of North Dakota.

Sumathi Chellappa, M.D.

Dr. Chellappa graduated from Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College in India in 2002.  Dr. Chellappa has volunteered at the Ames Free Clinic and has also worked at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

Aaron Johnson, M.D.

Dr. Johnson graduated from St. George’s University in Grenada this year.  He completed his undergraduate training at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri.  Dr. Johnson had a career in commercial agriculture as well as operation of his family farm for several years prior to medical school. 

Mohsin Khan, M.D.

Dr. Khan graduated from Kurnool Medical College in 1984.  He completed a fellowship in plastic surgery in India and was an assistant professor of plastic surgery in India for several years.  Most recently, Dr. Khan worked at the Columbus Neighborhood Health Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Oyeniyi Owoade, M.D.

Dr. Owoade graduated from the University of Jos in Nigeria in 1985. He is joining the Mercy Family Medicine Residency Program this year as a second year resident, having transferred from the Peninsula Hospital Center Family Medicine Residency Program in Rockaway, NY.

Brett Reimer, D.O.

Dr. Reimer graduated from Des Moines University–Osteopathic Medical Center in 2006.  He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa.  Dr. Reimer received the DMU Academic Scholarship for undergraduate GPA and MCAT scores and maintained the required GPA in all of his coursework at DMU.

Lawrence Tsai, M.D.

Dr. Tsai graduated from St. Matthew’s University in the Cayman Islands in 2005.  His undergraduate studies were completed at the University of California at Berkeley.  Dr. Tsai completed his clinical clerkships in Chicago, Illinois and most recently, participated in an observership at a family practice clinic in San Pablo, California.

Divya Vats, M.D.

Dr. Vats graduated from NHL Medical College in India in 1998. He is joining the Mercy Family Medicine Residency Program this year as a second year resident, having transferred from the Mercy Health Partners Family Medicine Residency Program in Toledo, Ohio.

2008 Graduating Resident Physicians

Jose Aguilar, M.D.

Dr. Aguilar graduated from University of Buenos Aires in Argentina in 1987.  He completed three years of residency in internal medicine in Buenos Aires and practiced in Argentina for several years before coming to the United States.  Most recently, Dr. Aguilar worked with the physicians at Mercy Central Internal Medicine Clinic and at the VA Medical Iowa Healthcare System in Des Moines, Iowa.

Julia Asner, D.O.

Dr. Asner graduated from Des Moines University–Osteopathic Medical Center in 2005. She completed her undergraduate training at the Metropolitan State College of Denver in Denver, Colorado.  Originally from Ukraine,  Dr. Asner was on the Dean’s List for two semesters and Vice-President’s Honor List for two semesters during undergraduate education.

Jay Hansen, M.D.

Dr. Hansen graduated from Tulane University in 2005.  His undergraduate training was completed at the Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.  Dr. Hansen received the Weber State University’s Presidential Commendation Scholarship. His interests include pediatrics, sports medicine, and emergency medicine.

Wendy Hansen, D.O.

Dr. Hansen graduated from Des Moines University–Osteopathic Medical Center in 2005.  Her undergraduate studies were completed at Drake University.  Dr. Hansen was a medical technologist prior to medical school.

Panamulla Jayatilleka, M.D.

Dr. Jayatilleka graduated from the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka in 1990 with honors. Dr. Jayatilleka completed one year residencies in general surgery and internal medicine in Sri Lanka, followed by work as a house medical officer in neurology and obstetrics and gynecology.  Most recently, she worked with physicians at Skiff Hospital and Newton Clinic in Newton, Iowa. 

Daniel Rowley, M.D.

Dr. Rowley graduated from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in 2005.  He completed his undergraduate studies at Iowa State University.  Dr. Rowley was involved in research during both his undergraduate and graduate education, completing a publication in 2002.

Prachi Singh, M.D.

Dr. Singh graduated from Lady Hardinge Medical College in India in 2001.   After coming to the United States, she worked with physicians at Associates in Gastroenterology in Columbia, South Carolina.
