Stipends, Housing and Moving Allowances
The annual stipends for the 2011-2012 academic year will be as follows:
PGY 1 $45,500
PGY 2 $46,500
PGY 3 $48,500
In addition, you will receive a $6,500 annual housing allowance. If relocating to Des Moines, a $1,000 relocation allowance will also be given.
PTO
All residents receive four weeks of paid time off (PTO) as well as six paid holidays per year.
Health Insurance
Mercy provides residents health insurance options that are partially funded by Mercy Medical Center.
Other benefits include life insurance and short- and long-term disability. Optional benefits include dental insurance, vision insurance, reimbursement accounts and tax-deferred annuity plans. Residents also receive a PDA with software upon entering the program, free meals, various classes, lab coats and continuing education stipends.
