Admitting

The Admitting Department is usually a patient’s first stop on the way to a scheduled inpatient test, procedure or surgery. Although your physician has already scheduled the procedure for you, you are asked to contact Mercy’s Admitting Department to pre-register, determine what information you will be required to provide and ask any questions you may have.

The Admitting Department is located on the north side of the hospital, between Mercy's Emergency Department and Main Lobby. Please check in with a patient representative when you arrive.

If you have trouble locating Admitting, volunteer ambassadors wearing green jackets are stationed throughout the hospital to answer questions and, if necessary, to escort you to your destination.

Patient representatives in the Admitting Department will help you check in for your test or procedure. You may be asked to wait momentarily in our waiting area while a patient representative prepares your information. You then will be asked to join a representative at his or her station to record your personal information.

One of our attendants will escort you to the appropriate area for your appointment.
