In some cases, the guarantor will receive multiple statements for a single date of service. For instance, Mercy has found that many insurance companies require specific billing information in order to process the claims to the carriers’ requirements.
Also, some Mercy departments issue separate billing statements. Examples of this would be radiology physician professional fees, emergency medicine physician fees and Mercy Clinical Lab (MCL).
