Diagnosing Heart Rhythm Disorders
The heart’s electrical system is very complex, so diagnosing rhythm disorders requires special equipment and skills. Most often, a diagnosis is made non-invasively, such as with a holter monitor, event monitor or stress test.
An electrophysiology study (EP) may also be recommended for a more thorough assessment. This diagnostic catheter procedure helps to find the causes of a particular rhythm disorder and determine the best method of treatment.
