Mercy’s Intensive Care Unit and the Cardiac Trauma and Surgical Intensive Care Unit are both located on Level 1 of the East Tower. These units include advanced technologies and modern unit design to improve quality and patient safety.

The two units also encourage increased family involvement in care by providing family space in the patient rooms and expanded, improved waiting accommodations for families and other visitors.

The Cardiac Trauma Services Intensive Care Unit is a specialized nursing unit to care for critically ill patients who have recently suffered a trauma or undergone complex heart operations, including open-heart surgery, transplantation and implantation of a ventricular assistance device.
