As a medical specialty, radiology has grown into an essential diagnostic tool with recent developments in imaging technology. With cutting-edge technology, high-resolution anatomic and functional images allow radiology physicians (radiologists) to detect tumors smaller than a centimeter in size, visualize tiny cartilage tears in joints and track down infectious diseases in their earliest stages. With advances in interventional radiology techniques, Radiologists can now treat aneurysms with minimally invasive stents and coils or deliver chemotherapy drugs to tumors with pinpoint accuracy.
The Medical Imaging Department at Mercy provides a complete range of imaging services for outpatients and inpatients. Using state-of-the-art equipment, we focus on performing high-quality imaging tests and image-guided treatments in a safe environment. We have a cohesive group of radiologists that are assisted by highly skilled technologists, nurses, child life specialists and supportive staff to perform and interpret over 250,000 examinations yearly. This large number of cases results in a wide range of expertise in the imaging and treatment of diseases affecting patients of all ages.
Mercy offers multi-disciplinary imaging departments in several convenient locations for patient convenience.
