Hospitalized children receive gifts from Santa
December 29, 2008

Thanks to the generosity of radio station Star 102.5 and the Valley West Mall Christmas Wish program, as well as several physicians and Mercy Foundation, more than 30 hospitalized children at the Mercy Children’s Center received a present and personal visit from Santa on Christmas morning.
During this holiday season, the Mercy Children’s Center - which includes a pediatric intensive care unit - is near capacity. Providing presents for the patients would have been difficult without the assistance of Star 102.5 and Valley West Mall.
"Illness doesn't take a holiday,” said Mercy Vice President of Mission Integration Laura Wenman. “With a full Children’s Center we would have been hard pressed to fill Santa’s list. We are extremely grateful to Star 102.5 and Valley West Mall. With their help— children’s spirits will be lifted and that will help us get them home faster."
