H1N1 vaccine available to all Iowans

Mercy Clinics are equipped to provide vaccine at majority of clinics

Beginning Monday, Dec. 14, select Mercy Clinics will begin providing H1N1 vaccinations to the general public. The complete list of Mercy Clinics that will be administering H1N1 vaccines include:

No appointments are needed to receive the vaccine at most locations; however, patients are advised to check with their clinic location for vaccine availability. There will be no charge for the vaccinations, but Mercy Clinics will charge an administration fee that will be filed to the patient’s insurance provider.


The Polk County Health Department also has vaccination clinics on a walk-in basis at Moore Elementary School, 3725 52nd Street in Des Moines. The clinic hours are Monday-Friday, 11 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday.
