Common conditions

  • Fractures of the foot and ankle
  • Achilles tendinitis - inflammation, irritation, and swelling of the Achilles tendon
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Ankle sprain - ligaments on the ankle are either stretched, partially torn or completely torn
  • Chronic ankle pain - discomfort in one or both ankles
  • Flat feet (Pes planus)- arch or instep of the foot collapses and comes in contact with the ground
  • Hammertoes - toe assumes a bent downward position like a claw.

  • Plantar fasciitis - irritation and swelling of the thick tissue on the bottom of the foot
  • Tarsal tunnel syndrome - compression of a nerve that runs through a narrow passage behind the inner ankle bone down to the heel
  • Morton's neuroma - thickening of nerve tissue between the toes
  • Bunion - big toe points toward the second toe that may become painful as extra bone and a fluid-filled sac grow at the base of the big toe
