Mercy Pharmacy Practice Residency Program

With the completion of your pharmacy education, the focus turns quickly to building a successful future. At Mercy Medical Center - Des Moines, we realize there’s more to pharmacy than compounding formulas or filling scripts. Mercy, a respected and proven health care leader in the Midwest, would like to invite you to build your pharmacy future with us through the Mercy Pharmacy Practice Residency Program.

The Pharmacy Practice Residency Program is a comprehensive set of experiences emphasizing clinical pharmacy practice as well as aspects of pharmacy management.

Each resident's schedule of rotations is individualized to meet his or her personal and professional goals. Residents will also have opportunities to get involved with formulary management, medication preparation/delivery, medication utilization, evaluation and development and attend multidisciplinary committee meetings. Residents are also expected to participate in journal club, case discussions, formulary reviews and complete a research project.

ASHP AccreditationThe Pharmacy Residency Training Program is conducted by Mercy Medical Center - Des Moines and is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (www.ashp.com).
