Mercy Pediatric Neurosurgery

When a child must undergo neurosurgery, only the most specialized care providers will do. Mercy's pediatric neurosurgery program strives to provide all children–from infants to teenagers–with an environment of patience, excellence and security. Our team of skilled surgeons and compassionate nurses will work closely with the pediatrician and parents or guardians of every child to ensure personalized and coordinated care is delivered.

Patients are seen out of Mercy's Neurosurgery Clinic for the following areas of care:

  • Deformities of the head and spine, including craniosynostosis
  • Brain, spine or nerve issues and injuries
    • Brain and spine tumors
    • Hydrocephalus (shunts)
    • Epilepsy
  • Birth injuries, such as congenital malformations
  • Pediatric trauma
  • Pre- and perinatal consultations

The pediatric neurosurgery team also collaborates with Mercy's pediatric craniofacial team to address conditions such as cranial vaults and JULIA CHECKING.
