Mercy Subacute Rehabilitation Services
Subacute care was developed in response to changing needs in health care. After an injury or illness in the past, options were limited. To receive comprehensive rehabilitative care, patients had to remain in the hospital. Now, with the development of subacute services, we are able to focus on optimizing functional gain in a more home-like environment.
Mercy Subacute Rehabilitation Services works toward community discharge with an emphasis on promoting independence whenever possible. A highly trained team of health care professionals develops an individualized plan of care to specifically target patients’ unique needs.
Individuals appropriate to receive subacute care may include those recovering from stroke, cardiac surgery, serious injury, amputation, joint replacement or chronic wounds.
Our unit is comprised of 35 beds with 17 private rooms and 9 semi-private rooms. Some other highlights include:
