About Mercy

Ambulatory Infusion Center

The Mercy Ambulatory Infusion Center provides patients with a safe and comfortable outpatient setting to receive infusion therapy. Ambulatory services allow you to receive the services you need without hospitalization, restrictions on your activity or home IV therapy. As an outpatient service, Medicare covers Mercy Ambulatory Infusion Center where other options for IV therapy may not be covered.

Your primary care physician can order your therapy or consult one of our physicians to provide the care you need. Specially trained registered nurses will administer your infusion therapy. This service benefits you by decreasing the length of your inpatient stay in the hospital or may help avoid it entirely. It also allows you to maintain your normal routine with appointments available at times convenient for you.

Services include:

  • Administration of IV antibiotics and other medications
  • Blood transfusions
  • First dosing of antibiotic
  • Hydration therapy
  • Blood draws from vascular access devices
  • Programming of portable IV pumps
  • SQ and IM injections

The infusion center is located within Mercy Medical Center, allowing access to the same emergency services provided to the hospitalized patient should you need them. In addition, our area has easy access to X-ray and lab services. To provide you with a pleasant environment while receiving treatment, we have comfortable loungers with individual televisions.
