Certifications and Reviews
On a routine basis, Mercy Medical Center – Des Moines welcomes surveyors from organizations into our facilities to ensure we are consistently providing the best possible experience and outcomes for our patients. One of those organizations is the State of Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals (DIA). The DIA and other regulatory agencies routinely work with hospitals to ensure all Iowans receive the highest quality, safest patient care. A rigorous review process is mutually beneficial and also affirms the quality of our care, which is always our top priority.
With nearly 1.6 million square feet of facility and more than 1.5 million patient encounters annually, Mercy’s quality record is a source of pride. While Mercy provides care for 1 of 10 Iowans, the organization generates less than five percent of patient complaints to DIA. We are very pleased that all of these in recent years have been unsubstantiated.
