Program Information
MercyOne Des Moines Psychiatry residency has a 10-year ACGME accreditation that was received in February of 2019. Our on-site residency program allows you to practice within the clinical, hospital, and community setting. We have a partnership through Universal Health Services with the Clive Behavioral Health Hospital. Here residents are provided the opportunity of completing inpatient rotations for both Adult and Pediatric populations in a new state of the art facility with training provided by leading medical experts and specialists in the Des Moines metro. .
During your residency, you will have the opportunity to gain experience and training in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Therapy. All Psychiatry teaching services are supervised by an experienced member of our faculty. Our Psychiatry faculty are compassionate and dedicated to the teaching of our residents.
Psychiatry residents have the opportunity to participate in an Integrative medicine curriculum during their residency program. We also provide an on-going comprehensive didactic curriculum that incorporates case-based learning, evidence-based medicine, and basic medical science. Regularly scheduled lectures that included psychopharmacology, case conferences, in-training review, journal club, and business of medicine will be provided throughout the year on a weekly basis.
